In a nutshell, a story has a beginning a middle and an end. They usually have a character and conflict, as the above two stories do. A statement is not a story. A joke is not a story. A biography or a memoir is not fiction. Give it a go. If you're already a writer, then show others how it's done. If you want to be a writer, embrace the pressure of exposure and enter a your story. That's what writers do.
